Thanks to shows like Normal People and The Flight Attendant, curtain bangs have become the number one hair trend among those with eclectic wardrobes and “it” girl status. Of course, we’re talking about curtain bangs. However, there is one look that even the most low-maintenance person can pull off. Shaggy, wind-swept and the perfect balance of put together and slightly undone curtain bangs made me feel anew. But unlike the straight-across fringe of my early teenage years (that still burns in my memory), this was different. Straight bangs, layered bangs, baby bangs-they are all style change-makers that require some hair skills to pull off. I know what youre thinking never cut a fringe simply because youre bored. But more often than not, we leave the salon bang-less, out of fear of how high-maintenance they will become. We save each inspired look for our next salon visit with every intention of finally going for it. Anyone who has ever contemplated making the cut most likely has a Pinterest board filled with chic fringe muses: Jane Birkin strolling the piazza with a straw bag in hand, casually pushing aside her wispy bangs or Zooey Deschanel, with blunt fringe perfectly framing her blue saucer eyes. At some point in our lives, we’ve all flirted with the idea of getting bangs. ![]()
